Babcock VC reveals why student in the viral sex video was expelled

The Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo, has revealed why the institution expelled an undergraduate female student in the hospital sex video that recently went viral, TheNation reports

Meanwhile, the boy was said to have been also expelled before the incident, while the girl in question was rusticated as a result of the viral video which they made while the school was on vacation.

Prof. Tayo on Sunday, said: “We had to take that judgment in order to guard this institution and to protect its alumni. Because anywhere they will go, they say the University where the students are all prostitutes.

Also, they said the girls are always swallowing including all kinds of ridicule. If we keep mute, in the public opinion they would probably think that anything goes in the university. We had to make a statement to instill discipline.

However, I need to tell you that I signed it off with tears in my eyes as a responsible father. But we are not leaving this young lady completely to her doom. The pastor called me last week and I prayed with the family.

More so, the father also called me and said pray with your daughter. I said she is still my daughter. Sometimes discipline is therapeutic. It is when you go that you realize that this is not right what I have done and then you go back to yourself.

I look forward to a future when this young girl would eventually graduate and be celebrated. It may not be here; I don’t know where but we are not throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

It is clearly not normal for a young lady to hold the manhood of the man and be swallowing. That is a very dirty thing which supposed not to be heard.”

The House of Reps Committee on Public Accounts has issued a 30-days ultimatum to YABATECH to prepare and present its account details to the office of the Auditor General of the Federation.

Also, the committee said if YABATECH failed to comply with the order, the National Assembly would have no choice but to hold back the allocation to the institution for 2020.

Appearing before the committee to investigate refusal by partially-funded and non-treasury funded agencies, the Rector, Mr. Obafemi Omokungbe said he assumed office in 2018 and that these accounts are not ready as the external auditors are yet to submit the reports.

On the other hand, the committee members rejected Omokungbe’s submission and agreed to place YABATECH on status inquiry and further probe into its financial details.

Mr. Oluwole Oke, the Chairman of the Committee said;

“It is not going to be business as usual. Let me sound a note of warning to those heads of MDAs hiding under the pretext of being new in office or absence of governing boards to approve their audited accounts as a deliberate cover-up for not remitting their audited accounts to the Auditor General of the Federation as and when due.

 “We, as a committee, will fish out those involved and publish their names and their MDAs in the national dailies. We are compiling their names; there will be no hiding place for them. This is not a threat; we are going to carry it out to the letter.”
