Enugu set to become the cleanest city in Nigeria

The coordinator and chief executive officer of the Enugu Clean Team Project, ECTP, Rev. Fr. Michael Ogbu, says the organization has placed apparatus in motion to guarantee that Enugu turns into the cleanest city in the country within the shortest conceivable time.

Addressing journalists on the activities of the body, Fr. Ogbu, revealed that apart from the procurement of new equipment to cover Enugu, Nsukka, 9th Mile Corner, Awgu and Oji River Local Government, the recent employment of extra 1000 staff in addition, would upgrade their operational limit.

According to him, ‘‘I trust the governor and the state executive council are inspired by our performance. And as a result, that’s the reason we were benevolently conceded solicitation to expand our staff strength with one thousand’’.

Describing the idea of the Enugu Clean Team Project as a great innovation and brain child of the state governor, chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Rev. Fr. Michael Ogbu, therefore re-affirmed his responsibility to meet the order given to him by the governor to make Enugu the cleanest city in Nigeria, a dream come true.

He however, appealed to motorists to drive gently. Especially in the early hours of the day, to avoid hurting his workers who are on duty. On the other hand, the Enugu Clean Team Project facilitator also advised residents of Enugu and other parts of the state to stop littering the streets with refuse, pure water sachets and other particles so as to make the streets look beautiful and drainage flowing freely.

Alleged Fraudsters Deported

Not less than 17 internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo” have been forcefully deported to Nigeria by Ghanaian Government

17 out of 29 persons arrested in Ho, the Volta Regional capital for their alleged involvement in cybercrimes, were deported by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS)

According to The Ghanaian Times, he said Nigerians were later handed over to the GIS for screening, following their arrest to ascertain their immigration status.

Meanwhile, the Ho Municipal Police Commander, DSP Anthony Danso, who informed the Ghanaian Times, on Tuesday, said it confirmed that the deported persons did not have decent immigration standing.

However, those who were found to be legal residents of Ho were immediately freed and reunited with their various communities.

Anthony also noted that some landlords rented houses to some Nigerians, who in turn used them for various despicable activities, including cyber fraud.

The police command, also revealed that they retrieved 33 laptop computers, two TV sets, one wireless router and 20 cell mobile phones including electronic gadgets during the raid

A Rivers man has been found buried in a shallow grave, with the wife being interrogated as the prime suspect, months after being declared missing

The decayed body of a Rivers State indigene, by name Inedukoba Charles Tyger, was on Tuesday, June 25th, unearthed from a shallow grave in Abalama Sandfield Asari-Toru LGA, in Rivers State, several months after being declared missing by family and friends.

However, a friend of the deceased, Ibiye Dokubo, had earlier raised alarm on February 26th, through his Facebook page, that Inedukoba  Tyger, had gone missing.

According to Dokubo’s post, Inedukoba Tyger and his wife were at the moment having some misunderstanding after she discovered he had impregnated another lady.

Dokubo who shared the post on social media platform wrote;

MISSING PERSON!!!
“I don’t know what to say for now but I remembered the last time you spoke with me that you are with your wife in Abalama and I insisted you give her the phone for us to talk and I queried her of her decision to reconcile with you on that Saturday evening but up till now we cannot hear from you and your wife have left to somewhere only God knows, but I pray you to come alive to tell us what happened…but as for her if she knows what transpired as your wife then she cannot hide forever because the long arm of the law must surely cut up with her.”

Also In another post shared on March 1st, Dokubo wrote;

“This is the wife of the missing man Mr. Tyger Inedukoba Charles, he was with her on Saturday before his sudden disappearance till date, they had issues because he impregnated another woman and up till now she had packed out of their rented apartment, she had transferred herself to an unknown LGA, she doesn’t pick her calls and she is hiding from the truth so please help me share this until we get her arrested or better still report her to any police station if you see her. Thanks”

After weeks of detailed investigation and search, the decomposed corpse of Mr. Tyger was exhumed yesterday, June 25th in the Asari-Toru local government area in the state.

Meanwhile, the wife, Ajemina Douglas, has been accused of perfecting the killing and burying his remains under the bridge. She was then arrested by the police before leading some officers to the shallow grave where he was buried. 

The state police command, is, however, yet to release a statement on this situation

Man Arraigned for Stealing Bible, Phone from Church worth N2, 500

A 22-year-old man, Eniola Kareem, has been arraigned by the Nigerian police on Wednesday at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a Bible and phone worth N2,500 from Word Life Bible Church, Ayobo, Lagos.

Eniola Kareem, who is said to reside at No. 22, Ijesha St., Ayobo in Lagos, is charged with theft.

Meanwhile, the prosecution counsel, Samuel Mishozumu, had told the court that Kareem committed the offense on May 19.

Mishozumu also said the offender criminally entered the church at Amule Ayobo in Lagos and stole a Bible as well as Nokia phone valued at N2, 500, which belong to one Ms. Fatima Adeyibo.

He also told the court that Kareem was caught by members of the church who later handed him over to the police. Mishozumu, however, said the crime contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

More so, PostNaija gathered that kareem Eniola, is liable to three years in prison if convicted. The young man, however, pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him.

The Magistrate O.D. Njoku then admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Njoku, later adjourned the case to July 16, for further hearing.
